A direct county-jail release may create no useful Minnesota DOC result. The DOC viewer becomes relevant only when the person entered state corrections jurisdiction or supervision. “Release” and “discharge” should not be merged. Release can mean the person walked out of the Jail while a criminal case or supervision continues. Anoka Jail Pretrial Release Meaning
The Jail has 238 beds and primarily holds nonsentenced people. That does not identify the status of any one detainee, but it explains why many departures occur before a final sentence. After an Anoka Jail Release
A person who enters the community may still have a pending case, probation, or another legal obligation. Probation is court-ordered community supervision and does not require a state-prison term.
